A SENSORY JOURNEY THROUGH THE FINEST WINES OF THE ISLANDS
A SENSORY JOURNEY THROUGH THE FINEST WINES OF THE ISLANDS
ABOUT US
The Casa del Vino de Tenerife is hosting the first Island Wine Summit in collaboration with Madrid Fusión, with the Cabildo de Tenerife and Tenerife Despierta Emociones as institutional promoters and the collaboration of Vinos de Tenerife.
A professional gathering to highlight the uniqueness of island wines around the world, led by some of the leading international experts, who will share the distinctive characteristics of these wines from different regions. It will be the prelude to the major world congress on island wines to be held in 2026.
The islands have preserved a unique genetic heritage, with varieties that have been forgotten on the mainland. A biodiversity that resists the global homogenization of wine.
The islands are home to extreme geology. Cultivated on impossible slopes, ocean-facing terraces, or volcanic craters, the island vineyards defy gravity and climate.
The marine environment is not just a landscape: it imbues the grapes with salinity, freshness, and depth. Each bottle conveys the landscape, identity, and spirit of the island where it was born.
TENERIFE AND ITS WINES
Since the 16th century, Tenerife wines have traveled the world bearing the island's name on their bottles. Pre-phylloxera vines, grown in volcanic soil and pruned by hand for generations, preserve a legacy that linked the island to the most important ports in Europe and America.
